Media Abbys 2019: Mindshare leads winners’ list with 14 metals

The 2019 Media Abby award winners were announced tonight at the Goafest, which kicked off today. With a total of 14 metals, Mindshare topped the winners’ list and walked away with the Agency of the Year Award. The agency bagged 4 Gold, 6 Silver and 4 Bronze Abbys, taking its total points to 84. Mindshare won the Gold Abbys for The Adaptive Data Lighthouse activation done for Lifebuoy; Waterfall Targetting campaign done for Aditya Birla Capital; Basant Loves Nidhi campaign done for Close-Up; and Brooke Bond Red Label’s campaign on bringing two rival nations together over a different ‘Cup’.

Commenting on the win, MA Parthasarathy, CEO, Mindshare India, said, “Winning Goafest is a fabulous feeling. The Golds that we won on Close Up, Lifebuoy, Brooke Bond and ABC are particularly satisfying as they brought together data, content and digital to create very distinctive solutions.”

Placed second was Madison Media with 11 metals, comprising 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 7 Silver Abbys. The agency scored a total of 58 points. 

This year, the total number of agency winners is up at 23, compared to 15 agency winners in 2018. The total number of metals won has also gone up to 62, as against 38 metals given away last year. 

With 7 metals, Initiative Media secured the third spot. The agency’s tally included 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 4 Bronze Abbys. Initiative’s total points stood at 38.

Lodestar UM scored 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze Abbys, taking its total metals tally to 5. The agency secured 30 points. 

Dentsu Aegis Networks’ Carat was placed fifth among the Media Abby winners with 3 metals – 1 Gold and 2 Silvers. The agency scored 20 points. 

Signpost India’s metals tally was at 4, which comprised 1 Silver and 3 Bronze Abbys. The agency was a tad below Carat with total 18 points.

Among the other Gold Abby winners were Dentsu Grant, Equinox Digital, Essence (Gurgaon), FoxyMoron Media Solutions, Isobar, Tonic Worldwide and Yash Raj Films.
