McDonalds (India) to roll out a web based ordering system!

McDonalds ' one of the largest retail food chains in the country has rolled out a web based ordering system for its customers. Yes! You all heard it right.

Currently, McDonalds is present in more than 15 states in India. It has spread its offline presence far and wide with every mall and even close to railway stations bearing the smiling Ronald's mc burger signs. And, it's only natural that they look at another medium of distribution like - internet that seems to be gaining traction.

However, the real challenge with online is pranks or false orders which can cost a company like McDonalds as it would waste real money in transporting the orders. If, once online payment mechanisms improve this issue would be taken care of as there won't be a requirement of cash of delivery model but instead customers would use e-wallets like ' PayPal.

For a model like online food ordering to be successful we need deeper penetration of alternate payment mechanisms like "e-wallets' and "m-wallets'. Well, I'm Lovin' It! Are you?
