Jalsha Movies dreams the future of Indian Football

The new-year will take off to a flying start with the good old rivalry between Mohan Bagan & East Bengal. Football fans across Bengal are gearing up for the upcoming derby match between the two giants on 11 January. Jalsha Movies is excited to be a part of the celebration. On the line of its plan of action, the channel has come up with a series of Calcutta Football League (CFL) derby match promotional films which, through the shock values in them, will bring back the Bengali obsession with football.

The films capture the bigger dream of the Nation playing the 2026 World Cup Football tournament. The clubbing together of racial identity and football obsession plays a crucial role in all the films in the series. Each of the films revolves around a typical Bengali character who desperately urges people around to give the world a taste of the talent Bengalis have got in the field of football. The films end with a pledge to make it to the 2026 Football World Cup. The films, in effect, connect the wider cultural identity of Bengal with its eternal passion for football. Two short films depicting the history of both the clubs Mohun Bagan and East Bengal is also on air.

“We at Jalsha Movies with CFL have taken the viewing experience of football in Bengal to a different level. Bengal’s enthusiasm for the game of football is well known and it is only apt that a campaign such as this is rolled out from this state. We hope that this campaign is endorsed by all. ”, says Mr. Kevin Vaz, Business Head, Star Jalsha & Jalsha Movies.

So CFL, through Jalsha Movies, is becoming an event to celebrate football-mania that knows no barrier. The derby match is just the start of big dream for football in India.
