Goafest 2016: JWT puts up a strong show with 47 Abbys

Goafest 2016 concluded with the presentation of the Film, Film Craft, Print, Integrated Marketing, Digital, Design, Ambient Media and Out of Home Abbys on the third day of the festival.

J. Walter Thompson led the metals tally at this year’s Goafest with 47 Abbys. The agency took home five Gold, 21 Silver, and 21 Bronze metals. J. Walter Thompson also secured the highest number of Golds this year.

Taproot Dentsu followed with 40 metals, which included two Gold, 19 Silver, and 19 Bronze. Contract Advertising secured 26 metals – one Gold, nine Silver and 16 Bronze metals. DDB Mudra Group and Dentsu Creative Impact were placed fourth with 23 metals each.


Design saw four Golds being awarded – Alok Nanda and Company, Publicis Communications, Out of the Box and McCann Worldgroup.

Alok Nanda and Company and J. Walter Thompson bagged seven metals each in design. Alok Nanda and Company took home one Gold, three Silvers, and three Bronzes. J. Walter Thompson’s tally included three Silvers and four Bronzes.


In Integrated, DDB Mudra Group and Publicis Communications secured one Gold each. Both the agencies also took home one Bronze metal each.

Contract Advetising bagged a Silver and a Bronze in Integrated, while J. Walter Thompson secured two Bronze metals.

Print Single

Print Single also saw two Gold metals being awarded – one to Dentsu Creative Impact and the other to Contract Advertising. Dentsu Creative Impact also took home four Bronzes. Contract bagged a Bronze, along with the Gold.

Taproot Dentsu secured the highest number of metals in Print Single, which included three Silvers and five Bronzes.

Film Single

Two Golds were awarded in Film Single. DDB Mudra led the category with six metals, which included one Gold, one Silver and four Bronzes.

Publicis Communications secured a Best in Category award in Print Single for its campaign titled ‘A Giant’s Story’ done for Ambuja Cements. The agency also took home a Gold and a Bronze.

Film Craft

Early Man Film dominated the Film Craft category with six metals. The agency’s total tally included one Gold, three Silver, and two Bronze metals.

Chris Cros Films secured a Silver and a Bronze in this category.


RK Swamy BBDO, DDB Mudra and Experience Commerce took home a Gold each in Digital.

J. Walter Thompson and Dentsu Webchutney bagged five metals each. Both the agencies won two Silver metals each and three Bronze metals each.

Taproot Dentsu walked away with four Silver metals.

Young Abby

Goafest 2016 saw the introduction of the Young Abby award, In its inaugural year, Bodhisatwa Dasgupta and Nitesh Shah of JWT Gurgaon bagged a Gold for their ‘Question, Kidding, Old Fashioned’ campaigns against Gender Violence.

Siddharth Joglekar and Ajinkya Banee of Publicis Communications secured a Silver for their social service campaign, ‘In it together’, done for Publicis.

Sameet Ali Soni and Rahul Bhojraj of JWT Mumbai bagged a Bronze for their campaignc ‘Bitch Please!. Yo Mama, Slap’ done to raise awareness of Gender Violence.
