‘Constitution of Investing’ to be launched on January 26th!

  • 68% of Indians don’t have a retirement plan on the day they retire.
  • Financial literacy is less than 24% in India.
  • Only about 1.92Cr Indians invest in mutual funds.
  • Major reasons why people refrain from investing in mutual funds is lack of knowledge.
  • Many potential investors don’t know where to find the required information.

These pointers underline the dire and urgent need for a dependable guidebook on Investing that can help millions of potential as well as current investors to chalk-out and evaluate their investment strategies.

Given the significance of Republic Day, Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management (RNAM) (www.reliancemutual.com) , along with its ATL agency J. Walter Thompson and Digital agency DViO Digital Pvt Ltd, thought of jointly putting together and releasing a #ConstitutionOfInvesting.

A Constitution Committee comprising of leading Investment Practitioners and Experts has been put together and this Committee guided the Marketing Team on the task at hand. A strong social and digital media campaign was put together to solicit inputs, experiences and tips from people at large and the collective effort led to a comprehensive document that will be called the Constitution of Investing!

The constitution Committee comprises of Mr Vijay Venkatram, Managing Director- Wealth Forum, Mr AK Narayan- CA & Financial planner with over 3 decades of experience; Ashish Shah – MD Wealth First Portfolio Manager Limited ;Vasant Kulkarni- A leading Investment Advisor & regular contributor on Investing in Marathi daily – Loksatta, Mona Fakih, Founder – Allegiance Advisors  and Sadashiv Phene, a Mutual Fund Distributor with more than 25 years of experience.

What’s even more interesting is that this will be a live document and will be revised periodically by the experts to include all suggestions, inputs and tips as they keep coming.

To introduce and promote this unique initiative, the team developed a thought-provoking film.

This initiative is being taken far and wide through interactive social media content which exhorted viewers to participate in the mission. Some of the innovation used were the hot formats that are popular on Facebook like 360-degree post and Press-and-hold post.

On Instagram, the team put together a series of eclectic stories and released an Instagram-specific 60-sec film. The team also capitalized the new Instagram Television Feature (IGTV). On Twitter, key subject-matter experts joined the mission and are helping spread the word; and intense discussions are happening on LinkedIn too.

A special landing page was designed on www.reliancemutual.com to host the traffic, allow them to watch the film and download the constitution and share suggestions, inputs and views.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sandeep Walunj, CMO of Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management, said “The need for a comprehensive guide on investing has become even more prominent in last couple of years with a very large number of new investors coming into the industry and the existing investors evolving their approach towards long-term investing; from short-term profit-making. I and my teams are very proud to have made a significant contribution to help investors get the maximum out of their investments.”

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Kishore Tadepalli – JWT, SVP & Managing Partner said, “It’s a unique initiative taken by Reliance Mutual Fund to help the investors across the country. 26th Jan - is an opportune moment to unveil the Constitution of Investment, drawing similarity to unveiling of the Constitution of India. It will serve as a guiding force for the existing investors and new investors coming into the fold for many years to come by.”

Speaking on the occasion Ms Sowmya Iyer, Founder & CEO of DViO Digital said, “Constitution of Investing is yet another great example of our partnership with RMF to champion investor education. In a country like India — where financial literacy is so low — the best contribution a brand can make is to create campaigns that simplify financial education. And RMF is committed to this. The need for purpose driven brands is more pronounced than ever before. And I really feel happy and proud that we continue to partner RMF in their commitment to investor education and financial literacy.”
