Brands show some love after SC declares verdict on 377

September 6th was a momentous day for the LGBTQ community as the much awaited Supreme Court verdict declared that parts of Section 377 that criminalises consensual homosexual intercourse between adults has been struck down. The five judge bench that gave the verdict was comprised of Chief Justice Dipak Mishra, Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice RF Nariman, Justice AM Khanwilkar, and Justice Indu Malhotra. The decision of the Supreme Court was unanimous. Of course, the LGBTQ community was overjoyed once the verdict came in but the outpouring of support and enthusiastic well-wishers who took to social media and spread the message was also startling.

Brands and agencies expressed their solidarity with the LGBTQ community by taking to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to publish creatives that rejoiced the revision of Section 377. Let’s take a look at a few of them:

Digital Marketing agency Team Pumpkin celebrated the scrapping of article 377 by changing their brand logos. To show their mark of respect and happiness to the verdict, the logos have been changed across their website and social media handles.

 CEAT Tyres took to Twitter with the #RideWithPride and wished the LGBTQ community in their own unique style.

 

Netflix India also changed their brand logo on social media and put out this image that reminds viewers of all their shows that celebrates every version of love.

 

 

HBO put out a retro-themed creative with a simple tweak that conveyed its progressive outlook and love for their viewers. 

 

 

Duroflex saluted both the gay community and India for ushering in a new era of acceptance.
