#BeatPlasticPollution Anthem launched exclusively on Hungama

Hungama, India’s largest digital entertainment company, in partnership with Bhamla Foundation, an organization that works to address health, environment and cleanliness issues, launched #BeatPlasticPollution anthem today in collaboration with celebrated singer, Shaan. Titled ‘Tik Tik Tik’, the song is a part of a campaign initiated by Bhamla Foundation to raise awareness about plastic pollution ahead of the World Environment Day. Available exclusively on Hungama Music and Artist Aloud, the song unites the industry with an aim to educate people about the perilous consequences of using plastic and encourages them to adopt a more sustainable method of living.

 

Composed by Shaan with lyrics by Swanand Kirkire, the song features melodious vocals by remarkable artists that include Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shiamak Davar, Ayushmann Khurana, Kanika Kapoor, Shankar Mahadevan, Armaan Malik, Shekhar RavjianiandNeeti Mohan, besidesShaanandSwanandKirkirethemselves. The music video has been choreographed by Shiamak Davar and features the singers.

The music video brings to the fore some alarming facts about the extent of plastic pollution. Our oceans contain over 200 million tons of plastics while 83% of the world’s tap water is contaminated by plastics; this figure goes up to 90% in India. Toxins released from plastic enter the food chain and cause cancer, immune disorders, and birth defects. At the same time, methane gas released because of plastic pollution is one of the leading causes of global warming. The campaign aims to get people to say no to single-use plastic.
