BARC Wk 48: Zee channels see gains; Naagin 3 begins to lose its hold

BARC ratings for Week 48 (November 24 - 30) of 2018 [HSM (U+R): NCCS ll: 2+ Individuals] saw Zee Anmol further strengthen its hold on the numero uno spot. The ‘Kumkum Bhagya’-‘Kundali Bhagya’ combine recaptured the top three spots among most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban as they pushed down Colors' ‘Naagin 3’ to the fourth spot for the first time since the supernatural show premiered on television screens. 

Zee Anmol further consolidated its numero uno position this week, witnessing a further increase in its gross viewership to 873,218, from 839,585 recorded in Week 47. Its top show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, also strengthened its position as most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 14,881 (000) Impressions. 

Buoyed by the performance of its two leading shows – ‘Kundali Bhagya’ and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ – Zee TV registered a climb of three notches to No. 2 in Week 48 from No. 5 last week. The channel garnered a steep increase in its gross viewership to 761,001, from 686,850 recorded in Week 47. ‘Kundali Bhagya’ climbed up a notch to the second spot with 12,691 (000) Impressions, while marquee show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ was up at No. 3 with 12,327 (000) impressions.  

Star Bharat slipped a notch to the third spot in Week 48, garnering a gross viewership of 734,742, a decline from 759,104 recorded last week. Recently launched mythological show, ‘Radhakrishn’, slid back to the fifth spot among most watched shows with 11,202 (000) Impressions. 

Star Plus, the biggest gainer in Week 47, slid a notch to No. 4 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 732,873, an increase from 707,398 recorded last week. 

On the other hand, Sony Pal climbed up a notch to No. 5 in Week 48. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 621,204, an increase from 600,897 recorded last week. 

Meanwhile, Star Utsav slid a couple of notches to the sixth spot in Week 48, recording a gross viewership of 618,101, a steep decline from 706,312 recorded last week. 

Sony Entertainment Television climbed up a notch to No. 7 this week, but saw a further decline in its gross viewership to 578,150, from 594,133 recorded in Week 47. 

Colors slid a notch to the eighth spot in Week 48, garnering a gross viewership of 565,229, a decline from 600,118 recorded last week. Colors’ prime property, ‘Naagin 3’, slid to the fourth spot among most watched shows, the lowest position that it has seen since it went on air earlier this year, registering 12,325 (000) Impressions. However, a mere 2 points separate ‘Naagin 3’ from ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ on Zee TV. 

There was no change in the positions of Dangal TV and Sony SAB in Week 48. Dangal TV continued in the ninth spot, reporting a gross viewership of 455,426, a further increase from 445,579 recorded last week.  

Placed at the tenth spot, Sony SAB saw a further decline its gross viewership to 392,154 this week, compared to 431,762 recorded in Week 47.
