BARC Wk 3: Zee TV, Star Bharat, Star Plus, Colors see gains in R+U

BARC ratings for Week 3 (January 12 - 18) of 2019 [HSM (U+R): NCCS all: 2+ Individuals] didn’t bring good tidings for Sony Entertainment Television, which slid from No. 2 last week to No. 7 this week as its show, ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, couldn’t capitalise on its good opening numbers. Meanwhile, ‘Naagin3’ held on to its numero uno spot this week. 

Zee Anmol saw a slide in its gross viewership in Week 3, but maintained its lead among Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 757,413, a decline from 825,917 recorded last week. This week, ‘Kundali Bhagya’, climbed up to the third spot among most watched shows, from No. 5 last week, with 13,210 (000) Impressions. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ slipped further to the fourth spot from No. 3 with 11,778 (000) Impressions. 

Zee TV continued its upward movement this week as well, further climbing up a notch to No. 2. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 665,067, an increase from 621,026 recorded in Week 2. 

Star Bharat, too, climbed up a notch to the third spot in Week 3, garnering a gross viewership of 614,551, a marginal increase from 613,744 recorded last week. Mythological show, ‘Radhakrishn’, was back among the top 5 shows and was placed fifth with 10,923 (000) Impressions. 

Star Plus also recorded gains in Week 3, climbing up a couple of notches to the fourth spot. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 608,526, an increase from 598,561 recorded last week. 

Star Utsav continued in the fifth spot this week, recording a gross viewership of 599,682, a slight increase from 602,723 recorded in Week 2. 

Colors climbed up a notch to the sixth spot in Week 3, garnering a gross viewership of 593,812, a marginal increase from 592,489 recorded last week. Colors’ prime property, ‘Naagin 3’, held on to its numero uno spot among most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 13,633 (000) Impressions. Reality show, ‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi – Jigar Pe Trigger’, continued to see good traction and remained the second most watched show with 13,513 (000) Impressions. 

Buoyed by the return of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, Sony Entertainment Television was the biggest gainer in Week 2 and was placed in the second spot. However, the channel saw a steep decline in Week 3, sliding to No. 7 and recorded a gross viewership of 579,683, as against 631,520 recorded last week. ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, which was placed fifth last week, moved out of the top 5 shows in Week 3. 

Continuing unchanged at No. 8 this week as well, Sony Pal garnered a gross viewership of 510,981, a further decline from 521,011 recorded in Week 2. 

Dangal TV climbed up a notch to No. 9 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 481,266, an increase from 479,688 recorded in Week 2. Meanwhile, Rishtey slipped a notch to No. 10, recording a gross viewership of 474,457, a decline from 484,384 recorded last week.
