BARC Wk 20: Dangal TV remains at top even as Zee TV’s shows rule

BARC India data for Week 20 (Saturday, May 11 to Friday, May 17) of 2019 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals], saw no upheavals in the top 10 GECs rankings, except for the re-entry of &TV in the tenth spot. Zee TV’s shows continue strong among the most watched shows. 

Dangal TV saw a slight increase in its gross viewership in Week 20 at 900,947 from 898,565 recorded last week. The channel held on to its numero uno position this week as well. 

Big Magic continued to see decline in its gross viewership this week as well at 728,550 from 734,422 recorded in Week 19. The channel remained unchanged at No. 2. 

Placed in the third spot, Star Plus saw further increase in its gross viewership this week at 655,098 from 641,933 recorded in Week 19. 

Continuing in the fourth spot, Zee TV saw further decline in its gross viewership in Week 20 at 531,765, compared to 547,525 recorded last week. 

Colors remained unchanged in the fifth spot in Week 20 as well. This week, the channel saw a slight decline its gross viewership to 503,344 from 510,225 recorded last week. 

There was no change in the ranking of Sony Entertainment Television as well, which continued at No. 6 in Week 20, garnering a gross viewership of 488,943, a further increase from 474,487 recorded last week. 

There was no change in the rankings of Sony SAB, Star Bharat and Sony Pal, which continued at No. 7, No. 8, and No. 9, respectively, in Week 20 as well. All three channels saw an increase in their gross viewership this week. 

Sony SAB garnered a gross viewership of 480,887, a further increase from 441,192 recorded in Week 19. On the other hand, Star Bharat saw a slight decline in it gross viewership for this week, which stood at 295,192, compared to 301,901 recorded in Week 19. Sony Pal garnered a gross viewership of 171,222, a further increase from 166,251 recorded last week. 

Meanwhile, &TV, which was dislodged from the tenth spot last week by Star Utsav, was back at No. 10 in Week 20, garnering a gross viewership of 147,233. 

Top 5 shows of Week 20 

Three of Zee TV’s shows were among the most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ continued to be the most watched show in Week 20 as well with 11083 (000) Impressions. ‘Kundali Bhagya’, the spin-off show of ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, continued in the second spot with 10,705 (000) Impressions. ‘Tujhse Hai Raabta’ made an entry in the fifth spot this week with 7,987 (000) Impressions. 

Star Plus’ ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay’ continued in the third spot this week, witnessing an increase in its viewership at 10,383 (000) Impressions. 

Colors’ supernatural/ fantasy show ‘Naagin 3’, too, remained unchanged at No. 4 in Week 20 with 8,847 (000) Impressions.
