Turner India, Rajgreen Group, CN come together for theme park, Amaazia

Turner International India and the Rajgreen Group of Companies have announced a brand partnership for the launch of Amaazia - India’s first Cartoon Network branded amusement park. The park, which will be located in Surat, has been conceptualised and designed by the Sanderson Group, Australia. Amaazia aims to attract approximately 1 million visitors in its first year of operations, while the estimated revenue for the first year has been pegged at Rs 150 crore. 

The park is being built at a cost of Rs 450 crore. It may be noted here that the Amaazia logo has been designed by Mudra Ahmedabad. 

Cartoon Network characters, including Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time, will be part of Amaazia’s amusement park section. The park will feature multiple branded zones and is scheduled to open in 2019. Built up as a one-of-a-kind family entertainment destination, Amaazia will host 33 theme-based attractions as well as 20 unique water-slides, using state-of-the-art technology. Designed to be an immersive entertainment destination, Amaazia will be spread across an expansive 61,000 sq mt in area. 

Amaazia will be Cartoon Network’s first brand association for an amusement park in India. The Cartoon Network brand association with Rajgreen Group for Amaazia amusement park reflects Turner India’s focus to put fans at the core of its business, and will enable Cartoon Network fans to interact and engage with their favourite characters and properties in a new and exciting way. 

Announcing this development, Siddharth Jain, Managing Director, South Asia, Turner India, said, “India is a priority market for Turner and our partnership with Rajgreen Group will enable millions of Cartoon Network fans to interact and have fun with their favorite characters like never before.”

Intended as a ‘daycation’ destination, Amaazia will feature theme-based attractions with live shows. ‘Meet and greets’ with characters from Cartoon Network’s most loved original programmes, which will be one of the highlights of any visit to the park. Amaazia will be divided into four major sections – a theme park, branded by Cartoon Network, a water park, a family recreational hub and a service apartment and retail shopping area. 

 

Rajgreen Group has been involved in construction, infrastructure development, entertainment and hospitality sectors for over two decades.

Sanderson Group, an Australian multinational firm known for development of integrated destinations including Theme Parks, Water Parks, Hotels and Malls, has partnered with Rajgreen Group of Companies for the conceptualisation and design of Amaazia. “Amaazia theme design and concept is unique and one of its kind,” said Dilip Chhugera, Managing Director, Sanderson India.
