The big season of Colors starts with India's got talent followed by Fear factor and Big Boss, says Ashvini Yardi

I don't know what talent I have got in me. But thanks to Nikhil Chinappa and Ayushmann Khurana, hosts, India's got talent Khoj 2 on Colors for enlightening me to find my hidden talent. The story goes; the two hosts were talking to the Media before the show launch and asking them to portray their talent. "There is a young girl smiling in that corner" says Ayushmann and both of them having found their "shikaar" (target) came to me and locked me between the mics they were holding. "Tell us what talent do you have" again says Ayushmann. In spite of refusing of not having any unique talent, Nikhil and Ayushmann made me sing a Gujarati regional song (as I am a Gujarati) in front of the Media. I am narrating the whole story because if they can encourage me to sing in front of 200 people then I am sure they can encourage "Real" talents from any part of the country.

In an exclusive conversation with Adgully, Ashvini Yardi- Head Programming, Colors shares, "Last year was actually an eye opener for us. The winners of last year were the 'Prince dance group' from a remote place in Orissa and it was completely unexpected. That village probably had only 20 people who had mobile phones."

She further adds, "The votes they got were probably the highest that Colors had seen on any reality show. So we realized there was a lot of hidden talent in the interior parts of our country which is why, to reach out to a wider audience we are going all out this time."

Colors has increased the number of audition cities as well as the mini auditions for which they have sent mini teams to every corner of India including a huge focus on South as well. They claim that what the audiences got to see in the last season could be called merely the tip of the ice berg. Like last season, this season will also see acts ranging from the common forms of entertainment of singing, dancing, acting to the interesting forms of art that include magic, mimicry to the daring performance arts which may include martial arts or even kushti, to something totally mind boggling and utterly bizarre.

On talking about the uniqueness of the show Yardi points out, "This is the only show that is open to anything, "any kind of talent'. There is no age group that we are actually catering to and there is no talent that we specify. This is year the youngest is about 4 to the oldest being 78."

With an excitement in her voice she gives away the details as, "We are going for the main auditions next week, and the mini auditions across the country have been done by the team. This is one of the few shows that actually get critical and commercial success, and because we had set a standard last year which will be raised this year as well. Actually we are looking for entertainment in every act which is something that we push forward"

The judges on the show are Kirron Kher- female actor, Sonali Bendre- female actor and Sajid Khan-Anchor and film Director. Last year Shekhar Kapoor was a part of panel that is now replaced by Khan. And Colors explains, "Shekhar was busy and he had prior commitments. Sajid has a sense of mass appeal and he knows what is entertaining "

The marketing for this show will follow 360 as done for other shows like Fear Factor and Big Boss with involvement of brands like Maruti as they were last year as well and Tata Docomo. While the other brands will join in as the sales has just begun. Not leaving the expectation of TRP behind, to go near 3.5 or more than that.

"Now the big season of colors will start with India's got talent followed by Fear factor and Big Boss" declares Yardi.

Conceptualized by Simon Cowell's SYCO TV Production Company and UK's Fremantle Media, the producers of shows like American Idol and many other big ticket reality shows, India's Got Talent Khoj 2 is a multi-performance high entertainment variety show. In India, the magnum opus is produced by Big Synergy for COLORS. The show will hit the screen later in the year.

Siddhartha Basu, Head of BIG Synergy said, "Last year India's Got Talent went beyond standard filmy entertainment to unearth exceptional talent. The diversity and richness of talent was breathtaking. This year the Khoj goes further, reaching out for any form of outstanding entertainment that will delight the viewers."

On a final note Yardi Shares the success Mantra of Colors with Adgully, "We don't take our viewers for granted, which is what we have realized right now in my drama shows, my ratings have dropped a bit may be because we have not innovated in drama. That's why Balika Vadhu is going a new drama twist right now. The thing is to give viewers what they want but also not let them believe that they know what is going to happen next."

So if you think you have got a talent and hop on to the Auditions and the judges will spot it in you!!! Awaiting to see some mind blowing talents.
