Sukesh Motwani bids adieu to Zee!

Sukesh Motwani,  Head of Programming - Fiction, Zee TV has put down his papers at the company effective 12th January 2013 . This move comes after his stint of five and half years with them.

Confirming the development to  Adgully Mr. Motwani said , “ There is a fatigue level in this genre and I look forward to doing something more creative in the future. Since presently there has been a bereavement in the family I would like to spend more time with them and hence have not decided on my next move.” He also added to say that he would decide on his move  towards the end of this month.

Earlier in June 2007 Motwani joined   Zee Next, the network's second GEC, as the content head. Post the shutdown of Zee Next, in August 2008 he  moved on to Zee TV as creative director. Subsequently he  was named the programming head, fiction for Zee TV in October, 2009 and  was reporting to Ajay Bhalwankar, programming head, Zee TV.

Originally an electronics engineer, Motwani initially began his career as a writer and created shows and formats for his uncle Kamal Nathani. Thereafter with his exposure to direction , he  made  travel shows and musical game shows.

During his stint with Nimbus in 1999 he made fiction shows for Doordarshan and became a screenplay writer for soaps such as Kahani Saat Pheron Ki, Agni and Shakti, which were aired on DD National.

At Zee he has been involved with their successful show such as Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, Chhoti Bahu, Jhansi Ki Rani, 12.24 Karol Bagh, Fear Files, Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, Phir Subah Hogi, Hitler Didi including the recently launched soaps Rab Se Sohna Isshq and Qubool Hai.
