SonyLIV’s ‘Virgin Woman Diaries’etches the journey of 8-year-old Kiara

In a country like ours, you ordinarily do not criticize your mom’s food or refuse a cup of chai even if it’s the middle of the night or enter a live-in relationship. So, what happens when a girl from a conventional Gujarati family, settled in Kenya ventures into an unconventional relationship? In SonyLIV’s latest offering ‘Virgin Woman Diaries’, etches the 8-year-old Kiara’s journey of love, relationships and passion.

Kiara is a happy-go-lucky girl whose family has a tannery business in Kenya. Growing up, she enjoyed a great rapport with her father, who is a broad-minded person. On the other hand, her mother is an orthodox, tradition-oriented woman. This distinct contrast is what shapes up Kiara’s teenage years and manifests yet again when she meets Amit in India, a boy who intrigues her but is different from her in every visible way.

Ironically, both, destiny and clichés have a miraculous way of holding true, the two fall in love! All of 18, she faces a difficult choice: Should she let go her virginity, for the man she loves or should preserve it for marriage? The series answers the question while showcasing the escapades of the young couple, from a humorous, edgy and completely relatable perspective.
