News Corp VCCircle to Launch Digital Media Platform‘INFRACIRCLE’

News Corp VCCircle, India’s leading source of start-up and private equity news, data and information, and an integral part of global diversified media, news, education and information services group, News Corp, has announced today that it will be foraying into covering India’s growing infrastructure space with the launch of InfraCircle.

This will be India’s first digital media platform dedicated to the country’s infrastructure space and a one-stop platform for infrastructure and policy related developments, catering to sub-segments such as infrastructure finance, transportation, communications, power, resources and urban development among others.

Besides not having to go through multiple media platforms to access news and information pertinent to the sector, subscribers of InfraCircle will be able to access news as it breaks, accompanied by analysis, opinion pieces and smart infographics on the go.

The platform will help the readers in tracking government projects and initiatives as well as the private sector enterprises and investments through Progress Indicators. There will be special features such as analyst reports, honchos’ movement tracker, online polls and trendsetting industry perspective.

“For a country with 1.25 billion people, there are substantial information gaps to be filled and InfraCircle has been conceived with the promise to bridge those gaps with our fair and consistent reportage and editorials. The need for a one-stop platform for infrastructure news was articulated by professionals in the infrastructure space during our various meetings with them. This is what got us to bring InfraCircle to fruition,” says Nita Kapoor, Head- India New Ventures, News Corp and CEO, News Corp VCCircle. She adds, “A robust infrastructure is the backbone of an economy. Given India's growth imperatives, there is a need for large-scale investments in the building blocks of the economy. InfraCircle would aim to narrate the India story and bring about a global perspective with news from other geographies as well through our international media properties.”

Utpal Bhaskar, who has exhaustively covered the sectors, is the Editor of InfraCircle and leads a team of award-winning journalists.

Commenting on the launch, Utpal says, “InfraCircle is different from traditional media platforms as it covers the infrastructure space and its developments in depth and width, with the rigour of old school journalism using new-age digital tools. Exclusive news breaks have traditionally been newspapers’ and television channels' forte. As a platform, we have pushed that envelope by consistently breaking exclusive stories, along with providing incisive analysis and smart infographics with the readers at the centre of our universe. Also, we do the same for developing stories in real time as we are a digital-only platform.”

InfraCircle would look to serve the decision makers in the infrastructure space who are starved for time. Subscribers can avail a one month free trial offer from the day of the official launch, post which the newsletter will go behind the pay wall.

The launch is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on Thursday (15th December, 2016) in the presence of Union Ministers Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon'ble Minister for Road, Transport, Highways and Shipping; Shri Suresh Prabhu, Hon'ble Minister for Railways; Shri Chaudhary Birender Singh, Hon'ble Minister for Steel and Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon'ble Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, besides industry captains representing the PSUs and the private sector.

The launch will also witness the release of the 'India@70' digital report – tracking India’s infrastructure journey through the last 70 years.

The Wall Street Journal, The Times (UK), Barron’s, and MarketWatch are some of the international publications from the stable of News Corp.
