LIA 2017: More shortlists revealed; 4 for McCann, Leo Burnett India gets 1

London International Awards (LIA) has announced the shortlists for Digital; for Design, Package Design and Verbal Identity; The NEW and Social Influencers. Winners for all media will be announced on November 1, 2017. 

A total of 154 entries have been shortlisted within Digital, with the US dominating the field with 43 shortlisted entries. Australia follows with 21 and Germany 12. 

From India, Leo Burnett India, Mumbai, secured the sole shortlist in Digital for its work titled ‘Roads That Honk’ done for HP Lubricants in the Innovative Use of Digital category. 

Chairing the Digital Jury this year was Per Pedersen, Chairman of Global Creative Council at Grey Global. Joining him were Jung A Kim, Innocean Worldwide; Paul Collins, DigitasLBi Stockholm; Cedric Devitt, Big Spaceship; Jay Gelardi, Huge; Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar, Cheil India; Ryan Moreno, CP+B; Simon Richings, AnalogFolk; Yukihiro Tominaga, AID-DCC Inc.; Daniela Vojta, McCann New York. 

Design, Package Design and Verbal Identity 

A total of 194 entries have been shortlisted in Design, Package Design and Verbal Identity. The final shortlist tallies by media: Design - 151, Package Design - 31 and Verbal Identity - 12. 

India has three shortlisted entries here, all secured by McCann Worldgroup, India, Mumbai. The agency’s work don for World For All, titled ‘Dog’, ‘Cat’, ‘Rabbit’ has been shortlisted in three categories – Design - Poster Campaign, Design - Use of Photography Campaign, and Design - Art Direction Campaign. 

Whilst the LIA judging in Las Vegas is winding down, the Design, Package Design and Verbal Identity jury led by, Bobby C. Martin Jr., Founding Partner of OCD | The Original Champions of Design, has completed judging. The jury panel, which consisted of Rachel Bernard, CBX New York; Theseus Chan, Work Singapore; Pum Lefebure, Design Army; Tony Liu, M&C Saatchi aeiou and Luis Silva Dias, FCB Lisbon, worked diligently to ensure that the best work was awarded. 

The NEW and Social Influencers 

There are 63 shortlisted entries in The NEW and Social Influencers. The US dominates with 25 entries shortlisted, followed by Germany with 7. 

McCann Worldgroup India, Mumbai has secured a shortlist in The NEW - Product Innovation category for its work titled ‘The Immunity Charm’ done for the Ministry of Public Health, Afghanistan. 

Amber Finlay, Senior Director, Global Brand Communications at Converse, presided over The NEW and Social Influencers Jury. She was joined by Johan Jäger, Jung von Matt Sweden; Adam Jenkins, Framestore Labs; Rafael Jiménez, Seenapse; Valerie Madon, Havas, Emad Tahtouh, FINCH; and Faris Yakob, Genius Steals.
