Future Group’s Devendra Chawla joins Walmart India as COO

Devendra Chawla, who recently quit as CEO, Future Consumer and Group President - Food, FMCG, Brands at Future Group, has joined Walmart India as Chief Operating Officer. 

Chawla will report directly to Krish Iyer, President & CEO, Walmart India. The appointment is in sync with the company’s plan to set up 50 new stores across India over the next 3-4 years. 

Chawla had joined the Future Group in 2009 and had worked in different functions, including CEO - Food Bazaar, President & Business Head - Food Bazaar, and CEO - Private Brands, FCEL Future Group. 

In the course of his career, he has also worked with Reliance Retail, The Coca-Cola Company, Asian Paints and Nivea JL Morison.
