Exclusive | Saurabh Tewari on a high with Tequila Shot...!

Saurabh Tewari is a name to be reckoned with. His creative talent and skills in the television industry have been etched in the minds of his audiences who have been entertained with his unconventional shows like Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, Do Dil.. Ek Jaan and Rang Rasiya.

Earlier a writer with production houses he has worked with  Zee TV, Colors (Viacom 18) and  Imagine TV which led to the start up of  his own production company , Saurabh Tewari Films Pvt. Ltd. In year 2011 he joined hands with BAG Films to launch his film & television production company, Nautanki Films Pvt. Ltd. with Abhinav Shukla.  In a recent development Tewari decided to step out from Nautanki Films Pvt. Ltd. thus bringing his association with the production house to an end. He will now 

In an exclusive interaction with Adgully, Saurabh Tewari, Producer, Saurabh Tewari Films Pvt. Ltd. talked about his move from Nautanki Films, his new plans and the opportunities he foresees for his new company.

Updating us about Tequila Shot Entertainment and his new responsibilities at the company he said, "I own my solo property Saurabh Tewari Films Pvt Ltd., a production house. Tequila Shot Entertainment (TSE) is a principal company based in Singapore which funds my production house and I am a partner in TSE."

Nautanki Telefilms Pvt. Ltd. recently produced three shows for Hindi GEC's viz. Madhubala, Do Dil Ek Jaan and Rangrasiya of which two are on air. Speaking about his latest plans and the partnership he shared with Abhinav Shukla he explained, "I shared a good rapport with Abhinav and we had a great stint at Nautanki Films together. Besides shows, we also produced a feature film Ekkees Topon Ki Salaami under the Nautanki Telefilms banner. At Nautanki Telefilms Abhinav handled the productions while I took care of the creative aspect of the shows."

As far as the ongoing shows are concerned, there has been a division of responsibilities as Rang Rasiya is being handled by Tewari whereas Shukla has taken charge of Madhubala– Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.

He will now be focusing on both television and film productions at TSE. Commenting further on his role at TSE he added, "Now my responsibilities have increased as along with production planning I have to handle creatives as well. Risks involved are the same as those which I dealt with in the past with the only difference being that earlier it was in partnership and now it  is solo.”

Would he be on the look -out for partners in the years to come? In reply to this he answered, "We will be looking out for systematic investors but no one at the operational level."

Briefing us about his new productions which are slated to go on the floors by the end of this year he concluded to say, "We are focusing on two shows on television and also a film for which shoots are scheduled to start sometime in October- November 2014."
