BARC Wk 46 ratings: Zee TV reclaims lead; Sony Pal’s shows shine

BARC ratings for Week 46 (November 11-17) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw Zee TV return to the No. 1 spot, even though the channel saw a dip in its gross viewership. Two of Sony Pal’s shows – ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ and ‘Baalveer’ – featured among the Top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. 

Zee TV reclaimed its numero uno spot this week after slipping a couple of notches to No. 3 in Week 45. However, the channel saw a decline in its gross viewership at 677,155 in Week 46 from 681,138 recorded last week. Its show, ‘Kundali Bhagya’, was back as the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 12,491 Impressions (000s), while ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ followed in the second spot with 11,938 Impressions (000s). 

Zee Anmol, which had climbed up a couple of notches to the second spot last week, remained in this position in Week 46, garnering a gross viewership of 664,328, a decline from 687,192 recorded last week. The channel was leading the Hindi GEC space in Rural+Urban for several weeks until Week 44. 

On the other hand, Star Bharat, which had reached the No. 1 spot in Week 45, slipped a couple of notches to be placed in the third spot this week. The channel recorded a further decline in its gross viewership – from 687,238 last week to 656,578 in Week 46. Sitcom ‘Kya Haal Mr Panchaal’, which had made an entry to the list of most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban at No. 4 last week, remained in this position in Week 46 with 9,512 Impressions (000s). 

Colors was unchanged at No. 4 in Week 46, garnering a gross viewership of 638,715, a further increase from 612,853 recorded last week. 

Sony Pal, too, remained unchanged in the fifth spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 629,560, an increase from 594,061 recorded in Week 46. Long-running sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ made a re-entry to the list of most watched shows at No. 3 with 9,704 Impressions (000s). ‘Baalveer’, another show on Sony Pal, also made to this list and was placed at No. 5 with 8,901 Impressions (000s). 

Star Plus continued to be placed in the sixth spot in Week 46, garnering a gross viewership of 514,131, a decline from 527,648 recorded last week. 

Star Utsav saw further gains in Week 46, climbing up a notch to the seventh spot. The channel’s gross viewership increased from 392,455 recorded in Week 45 to 431,567 this week. 

Sony Entertainment Television, meanwhile, slipped a notch to No. 8 in Week 46, garnering a gross viewership of 425,518, a further decline from 430,493 recorded last week. 

Rishtey and Sony SAB remained unchanged at No. 8 and No. 9, respectively. Rishtey garnered a gross viewership of 418,444, a further increase from 382,655 recorded in Week 45. Sony SAB, too, saw an increase in its gross viewership – from 377,236 recorded last week to 393,863 recorded in Week 46.
