BARC Wk 34 ratings: Zee Anmol firms up lead; Colors climbs up to No. 2

BARC ratings for Week 34 (August 19-25) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw Zee Anmol registering its highest ever ratings ever since BARC was introduced as the channel consolidated its lead. Meanwhile, Colors clawed its way back to the second spot. Shows from the Zee stable continue to be among the most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. 

Zee Anmol further consolidated its lead in Week 34 among the Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban for the fifth week in a row. This week, the channel recorded its highest ever ratings ever since BARC was introduced, with its gross viewership going up to 815,471 from 671,478 recorded last week. Re-run of the serial ‘Jamai Raja’ was the third most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 9,927 Impressions (000s). 

Colors, which has been steadily gaining grounds over the last few weeks, climbed up a notch to the second spot in Week 34. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 618,223, an increase from 603,601 recorded last week. Reality show, ‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi – Pain in Spain’, also climbed up a notch to the third spot with 10,359 Impressions (000s). 

After being placed in the second spot for several weeks, Zee TV slid a notch to the third spot in Week 33, garnering a gross viewership of 617,260, a decline from 628,459 recorded last week. However, three of its shows continue to be amongst the most watched shows on Hindi GECs. This week, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ surged to the top spot with 10,486 Impressions (000s). Talent hunt show ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ dropped to the fourth spot from No. 1 last week with 9,699 Impressions (000s). ‘Kundali Bhagya’, the spin-off show of ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, was placed fifth with 9,691 Impressions (000s).

On the other hand, Star Plus remained at No. 4 in Week 34, garnering a gross viewership of 598,506, a marginal increase from 597,354 recorded last week. 

Rishtey climbed up a notch to the fifth spot this week from No. 6 in Week 33, garnering a gross viewership of 520,553, a further increase from 515,871 recorded last week. 

Sony Pal slipped a notch to No. 6 in Week 34, recording a gross viewership of 507,753, a fall from 551,597 recorded last week. 

There was no change in the rankings of Sony SAB and Sony Entertainment Television in Week 34. 

Sony SAB continued in the seventh spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 390,017, a slight decline from 396,881 recorded in Week 33. 

Placed at the eighth spot, Sony Entertainment Television saw a further decline in its gross viewership – from 383,176 in Week 34 to 387,798 last week. 

Meanwhile, Star Utsav and Life OK switched places this week. Star Utsav climbed up a notch to No. 9, garnering a gross viewership of 331,097, an increase from 313,710 recorded in Week 33. 

Life OK slipped a notch to the tenth spot in Week 34, reporting a gross viewership of 328,571, compared to 336,765 recorded last week.
