BARC Ratings Week 41: Naagin 2 opens strong on Colors; Zee Anmol at No3

BARC ratings for Week 41 (October 8-14) of 2016 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals] saw Star Plus maintain its numero uno position amongst Hindi GECs. Zee Anmol saw gains this week, climbing up to the No. 3 spot, overtaking Zee TV.

Star Plus’ undisputed reign as the leader amongst Hindi GECs continued in Week 41, with the channel garnering gross viewership of 706,324, compared to 677,946  recorded last week. Star Plus’ shows – ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ and ‘Yeh Hain Mohabbatein’ – were amongst the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs this week. While ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ was placed in the third spot with 10,074 Impressions (000s), ‘Yeh Hain Mohabbatein’ has back in the list in the fourth position with 9,687 Impressions (000s).

Colors continued its strong performance in Week 41 as well. Placed at the second spot, the channel witnessed a further a jump in its gross viewership from 582,912 recorded in Week 40 to 682,916 this week. This leap was largely a result of the return of ‘Naagin’ for its second season. The show topped the charts of Hindi GECs shows in Week 41, garnering 13,848 Impressions (000s). ‘Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki’, too, saw gains this week and moved up to the No. 2 spot, registering 10,517 Impressions (000s).

Zee Anmol’s good run in the ratings chart continued this week as well. The channel climbed up a notch to No. 3, moving past Zee TV, garnering a gross viewership of 521,105, an increase from 497,549 recorded in Week 40.

Zee TV slid a notch to be placed fourth in Week 41 after spending several weeks in the third spot. The channel’s gross viewership declined to 472,953 from 499,579 recorded last week. Its show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, which was placed in the second position last week, slid to the fifth spot, garnering 9,386 Impressions (000s). Meanwhile, Bo. 1 show last week – ‘Brahmarakshas - Jaag Utha Shaitan’ – moved out of the list of top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in Week 41.

Sony Pal was ranked fifth amongst the top 10 Hindi GECs in Week 41, garnering a gross viewership of 432,309.

Life OK slid a notch to No. 6 in Week 41, witnessing a further decline in its gross viewership to 415,987 from 428,990 recorded last week.

Sony Entertainment Television, too, slid a notch to No. 7 this week, registering a gross viewership of 415,584, a further decline from 423,671 recorded in Week 40.

Star Utsav was placed in the eighth spot in Week 41. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 401,336, a further decline from 409,577 recorded last week.

Rishtey was placed in the ninth spot in Week 41, garnering a gross viewership of 392,580.

Meanwhile, Sony SAB, which was placed at No. 8 in Week 40, slid to the tenth spot this week, witnessing a decline in its gross viewership to 364,481 in Week 41 from 378,751 recorded last week.
