BARC Ratings Week 35: Star Plus continues to lead in Rural+Urban

BARC ratings for Week 35 (August 27-September 2) of 2016 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals] saw Star Plus maintain its numero uno position amongst Hindi GECs.

Star Plus remained the undisputable leader in Week 35 as well. The channel witnessed a further rise in its gross viewership this week to 761,819 from 732,303 recorded last week. Two of its shows featured in the list of top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in Week 35. ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ was placed in the second spot, garnering 10,689 Impressions (000s), while ‘Yeh Hain Mohabbatein’ was placed fifth with 9,076 Impressions (000s).

Zee TV was placed in the second spot in Week 35. The channel, too, witnessed an increase in its gross viewership from 577,316 recorded in Week 34 to 598,015 this week. Its marquee show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, once again topped the charts, garnering 12,636 Impressions (000s), compared to 12,261 Impressions (000s) last week. Meanwhile, ‘Brahmarakshas - Jaag Utha Shaitan’ slipped a notch to No. 3 with 10,646 Impressions (000s), as against 9,922 Impressions (000s) last week.

Colors, which rose to the third spot in Week 34, held on to this position this week, witnessing a slight dip in its gross viewership to 537,562 from 539,533 recorded last week. Its show, ‘Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki’, which had made an entry in the top 5 Hindi GEC shows at No. 5 last week, climbed up a notch to No. 4 this week with 9,132 Impressions (000s), up from 8,695 Impressions (000s) last week.

At No. 4, Zee Anmol witnessed a decline in its gross viewership to 517,888 in Week 35 from 530,854 recorded last week.

Star Utsav is on a decline after reaching the high of No. 2 spot among Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. The channel continued to see a drop in its gross viewership in Week 35 as well, from 510,067 in Week 34 to 440,375 this week.

Life Ok retained its sixth position with gross viewership of 411,927 this week, a decline from 426,828 recorded in Week 34.

Sony Pal’s position, too, remained unchanged at No. 7. The channel registered a gross viewership of 389,607 in Week 35, compared to 419,210 recorded last week.

Sony SAB, Sony Entertainment Television and Rishtey remained in their respective positions of 8, 9 and 10.

Placed at No. 8, Sony SAB garnered a gross viewership of 384,302 this week, a slight decline from 393,681 recorded in Week 34.

Sony Entertainment Television continued at the 9th position in Week 35 as well, garnering gross viewership of 377,075, compared to 370,417 recorded last week.

Placed at the tenth spot, Rishtey saw an increase in its gross viewership to 301,226 in Week 35 from 291,354 recorded last week.
