Ameen Sayani's sings for Zee TV's Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani!

ZEE TV’s upcoming magnum opus classic romance ‘EK Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’ has already made headlines with its stellar cast and the promise of unmatched opulence. Leaving no stone unturned in transporting its audiences to the 1940s, the makers of the show are pushing the envelope with regards to meticulous research of the era and production values that ensure authenticity. Staying true to the show’s proposition of #TurnBackTime, the channel has recorded radio spots with the most iconic radio announcer of India, a voice synonymous with the Golden age of All-India Radio - Ameen Sayani.



Ameen Sayani,  known for his inimitable style and infectuous charm shot to fame all across the South Asian continent with the popular AIR show 'Geetmala'. He still remains the most emulated and respected radio announcer. With a distinct connect etched in public mindspace between Ameen Sayani's golden voice and all things classic, this living legend proved to be the ideal choice for a vintage style radio spot being recorded to promote Zee TV's magnum opus period drama.    

Having been signed on for the very first time by a television channel  to promote its upcoming period drama,  Sayani  says, “ZEE TV is one of India’s finest TV channels – and I’ve had the good fortune of having been quite closely associated with it during its early days. And I was very happy indeed when ZEE TV approached me to record a voice-over for the radio spots of its upcoming TV serial, 'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani'. Big FM’s most popular show 'Yadaon Ka Idiot box' by the talented RJ Neelesh Mishra will also give viewers a sneak preview of 'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani' on 24th July between 9 and 11 PM. Furthermore, on 27th July, for the first time, the radio station will have three of its most popular RJs travel back in time. Almost as if put in a time machine, the RJs will go back to the 1940’s and give trivia on fashion, cuisine and style related to that time to listeners connecting it with Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani.
