Aditya Swamy quits Flipkart; headed to Google

Aditya Swamy, Senior Marketing Director at Flipkart, has put in his papers, as per industry sources. It is learnt that Swamy will be joining Google. 

Swamy had joined Flipkart in January 2016. Before that, he was with Viacom18 Media from June 2006 to December 2015. He had quit the organisation as Executive Vice President & Business Head. 

Swamy had started his career at Coca Cola in sales, working both urban and rural markets. He left the beverage major as General Manager – Marketing in May 2006 after a stint of eight years. 

He had also led the MTV business in India and helped scale MTV from a TV channel to a multi screen content network across TV, web, mobile, social and live events. He also created multiple revenue streams and several cult formats like MTV Roadies, MTV Coke Studio, MTV Top Model and MTV Labs. 

At Flipkart, Swamy has led the digital media and content charter. He has been involved in building a socially powered Content2Commerce program aimed at driving higher conversions across Flipkart platforms. On the digital media side, he has work closely with Facebook , Google and Twitter to drive reach, engagement and traffic across campaigns, events and launches.
