Speaking on the occasion, Rameet Arora, Senior Director ' McDonald's India (HRPL) happily said, " Mc Donalds is family brand by TV standards and large part of our family marketing program is our "HAPPY MEAL' program which has been in promotion for longest time in the world since 50 years. Children have enjoyed their Happy Meal with their little toy every time they have come and so this association is an extension to that program. It is very special as SpongeBob, is a very endearing and loved property. Nick is fantastic brand to work with and to work with a brand which marries with your product as well as it fits with your product very well is a fantastic move. "
Because of such an effective campaign and promotions the sales have increased drastically. Rameet says, "If you visit Mc Donalds you will see a SpongeBob everywhere, we sold a record no. of happy meals this week which indicates the popularity of Sponge Bob. The promotion itself is so powerful that you don't need to anything else. Children are flocking to the store, SpongeBob is selling very nicely, there are happy faces all over and which is a key thing if Mc Donalds is concerned."
With no such future brand associations the brand is gearing up. As told by Rameet they have a yearlong calendar which is linked to their global calendar. The products are really special in India as Nick and Mc Donalds are like favorites.
Talking about the marketing push, he said, "There is a big campaign on television, there is lots happening at Nick it, the stores are full of SpongeBob.
